Google Ads

Automation will spend the budget. We decide whether it should.

Short answer

Google Ads buys you enquiries immediately while slower channels build. We manage search, Performance Max and remarketing for Australian small businesses, with a flat management fee, weekly negative keyword work, and reporting measured in cost per qualified enquiry.

The approach

Why we do it this way

Google Ads is the fastest way to find out whether people want what you sell. It's also the fastest way to spend money on searches that were never going to convert — which is what happens when an account is set up once and left to Google's automation.

The unglamorous work is where the return lives: reading the search terms report every week, cutting the queries that waste spend, writing ad copy that pre-qualifies, and making sure the landing page answers the promise the ad made.

We charge a flat management fee rather than a percentage of spend, so we have no incentive to talk you into a bigger budget than the account can absorb profitably.

Process

How we run an ads account

Weekly cadence, monthly strategy, no set-and-forget.

Step 01

Account and tracking audit

Before spending a dollar we verify conversion tracking is measuring real enquiries, not page views. Broken tracking is the single most common problem we inherit.

Step 02

Commercial modelling

Target cost per enquiry, close rate and customer value, so we know what a click is worth before we bid.

Step 03

Campaign build

Tightly themed search campaigns, Performance Max where the asset library justifies it, and remarketing for the long consideration cycles.

Step 04

Landing page alignment

The ad promise and the page headline match. Where they don't, we build a page that does.

Step 05

Weekly pruning

Search terms reviewed, negatives added, bids adjusted, underperforming assets swapped.

Step 06

Monthly review

Spend, enquiries, cost per enquiry and what we're changing next month — in plain English.

Packages and engagements

How Google Ads packages are scoped and priced

Google Ads is a capability, not a product. It sits inside one of three engagements, and each is quoted on scope and the outcome it is accountable for — never on hours logged or a percentage of your ad spend.

Answers

Google Ads questions, answered properly

How much should I spend on Google Ads?

It depends on what a customer is worth and how competitive your terms are. As a rough floor, a local service business usually needs $1,500 to $3,000 a month in ad spend for the data to be meaningful. We'll model it with you before you commit — and tell you if ads aren't the right channel yet.

Do you charge a percentage of ad spend?

No. We charge a flat monthly management fee based on account complexity. Percentage-of-spend pricing rewards an agency for spending more of your money, which isn't an incentive we want.

Who owns the Google Ads account?

You do. We work inside your account. If we part ways, you keep every campaign, every conversion history and every audience.

How quickly will I see enquiries?

Usually within the first two weeks. The first month is about gathering data; months two and three are where cost per enquiry usually drops as the negatives and bid strategy settle.

Should I run ads and SEO at the same time?

If the budget allows, yes. Ads tell you within weeks which keywords convert, and that data makes the SEO programme sharper. They also cover the gap while organic rankings build.

What about Performance Max?

We use it where there's a real asset library and a clear conversion signal, and we always run it alongside a branded search campaign so we can see what it's actually claiming credit for.
